About Us

Growhampton is a sustainability initiative focusing on food education in the University of Roehampton. It was established in September 2013 funded by the NUS Student Green Fund and is delivered by Roehampton Students’ Union.

Growhampton project aims to inspire and engage students, staff and the Roehampton community with sustainability issues. We care not only the environment, but also the people. The growing sites and the forest gardens in the campus along with the chicken coop provide unique and great opportunities for students and the Roehampton community to learn about healthy food and biodiversity. Also, it has been long proven that connecting with nature can improve our well-being, both physically and mentally.

Our Objectives

  1. enhance students and Roehampton community’s experience on campus by providing unique volunteering opportunities
  2. engage our students and Roehampton community to eat healthier and live sustainably in partnership with the Hive and community partners
  3. enhance students and Roehampton community’s well-being through various food education events and workshops
