Bystander Intervention Team

If you are attending an event organised by the Students’ Union or the Union Bar, you can access support from the Bystander Intervention Team.

The Bystander Intervention Team reinforces the university's zero-tolerance stance on sexual misconduct. The team is formed of a group of trained students, who are present at late-night events to support the Roehampton community by providing pastoral support, proactively intervening in problematic situations, and supporting disclosures of sexual violence. The Bystander Intervention Team works alongside the security team and bar staff to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

You will see the team wearing blue tops and stationed at various locations across the event. You can always go and chat to them!

If you would like more information on the Bystander Intervention Team or would like to get involved in training opportunities, please contact Olwen.ottaway@roehampton.ac.uk.
