My name is Tom Johnson, but some of you may know me as Elix from discord. I am only in my first year but have already thrown myself into the esports society as much as I can despite the difficulty with covid and I have taken on the role of game admin for VALORANT since January, as well as helping out with running the Among Us and CS:GO community nights.

For me, this society has been the only way to connect with others and to make friends in my first year of university life, which has been otherwise difficult, and I am truly grateful for everyone I have met through the esports society so far. The society has been such a warm, welcoming community and I want to be able to bring that same experience that I've had to others and get even more people involved in the future.

By voting for me, you can guarantee a president who will put the esports society first and aim to push the society to new heights, not only in the competitive teams but with the casual community as well.

My goals for next year:

- Increase the social media presence of the esports society.

- Run more inclusive community nights, to bring together the society members and those looking to join the society.

- Introduce a Roehampton esports podcast where members of the society can speak about a game or subject that they are passionate about.

- Host more Varsity events such as the recent event against Portsmouth.

- Focus on finding content creators to use the Roehampton Esports twitch and spotlighting different content creators throughout the year (e.g. streamer of the week)

- Collaborate with other societies for events to get more people involved with the society who may not have previously considered joining.

- Run more internal events, including but not limited to 1v1 tournaments, community nights, watch parties, and college cup events.

- Give more opportunities to those who may be interested in the non-playing side of esports, such as casting/commentating, coaching, and analysis.
