Disability is not about inability. It’s time to focus on abilities and not disabilities.

I firmly believe that students with disabilities should be consistently supported throughout their academic studies. Neurodiversity is an umbrella term that enables your unique qualities to shine and not be stigmatised. Through the supportive structures, including tutors, academic teams and the library, students should feel listened to, supported and guided to achieve. Equality in education should not prevent those with disabilities to struggle through study. Closing the feedback loop between disabled students, RSU and disability services would be a priority of this role. I have been Department Rep for Education this year, and I feel confident communicating with academic teams and broader support services. I will provide regular updates and guidance when I have feedback. I have a lot of experience with various disabilities and feel I can support disabled students.
