Hello Froebelians, my name is Ross.

For those of you who know me and those who don’t, I am a 2nd year nursing student and Senior Flat Rep for Chadwick West.

I’m an energetic, caring, and compassionate person who’s happy to take other opinions onboard. 

In my time at Roehampton, I’ve carried out various roles to support the Uni such as Rowing Social Sec, Flat rep, program rep and student mentor, so let’s just say this isn’t my first Roehampton Rodeo. 

I believe the skills I have acquired over 4years at Roehampton have made me ready to take on President!

Why vote for me?

I want Roehampton to grow and by being President I’d keep the fun and inclusiveness strong, for on/off-campus, new or continuing students. To do this I will build on top of the current team who made Froebel my home. I’d be a strong voice for opinions, helping to implement your ideas as well as my own which are as follows:

-Student polls to decide on events like the annual Froebel holiday, social nights (drinking/non), giving students a say on what happens / where. I’d like to hold more events year-round including the summer, making events accessible to both on/off-campus as well as summer students and international’s. 

-charitable work, such as blood donations / free home STI testing kits / working with the gym and Sport Roehampton, seeing what promotions we can create. I’d like to bring more awareness to mental health and increase the great services / support options we currently have in place. 

-International’s / Postgrads / Students on placements need more support within the university while creating more chances for these students to be able to engage within Uni life. 

-Regular meetings with other RSU Officers such as sustainability, BAME, LGBTIQA+ and Education etc, as to see what Froebel can bring to the table making sure we are the best college to be part of and everyone feels included / represented. I’d like to hold Flat Rep socials to catch up, while promoting the college team.

-Open-door policy for students to reach over email, social media or meet in person. I’ll hold drop-in hours for any students wanting to speak in person too. I’ll always do my best to help. 

-The environment represents Roehampton a lot but I feel we can do more to help with sustainability and get to Net Zero. I’d like to arrange for more chill-out spaces around the Uni for people to relax and socialise in while incorporating the sustainability officers and Growhampton etc. 

I plan on being fully engaged within the role of President, using all the resources at my disposal, creating new connections with the university and third parties. I have a strong voice and willingness to deliver nothing but the best for Froebel and other colleges (who doesn’t like some competition). With this in mind I’d be appreciative for your support so I can be the president you all deserve!
