RSU PRESIDENT MANIFESTOS

Leadership is beyond an individual, ‘it is about one’s action inspiring others to dream more, learn more, and become more.

I am Olusoji John Samuel and would be running for the position of RSU president. As the current Nigerian Student Society President and studying postgraduate in Business Administration. I have come across amazing personalities and created unforgettable memories. All through my period involved with the society there has been positive changes and would like to extend such to the greater body and grant a wonderful student experience

WHAT I ACHIEVED AS THE NIGERIAN STUDENT SOCIETY PRESIDENT

• Created the society during the pandemic and grew the society
• Created bond among the members
• Opened our memberships to Ghanaians and hopefully to other African students
• Organised events targeted to academic, bonding and others
• Collaborated with other Nigerian Students Societies in other universities
• Encouraged our members to aspire for positions in the students and one of our members is the current Southlands presidents

WHAT I PLAN TO ACHIEVE AS YOUR PRESIDENT  

• Take the lead nationally on issues affecting the student body in UoR
• Provide leadership training for all student leaders in enhancing their skills
• Learn to create an all-inclusive program of events tailored to the diversity of students at UoR
• Ensure we have the best freshers’ week and opportunities are widely promoted
• Ensure to speak with stakeholders in the housing sector to ensure accommodation is affordable for the students as this is a major challenge for international students

My initial aim is to create awareness of our student union, all organisation's societies, volunteering opportunities that are inclusive based on race, culture, religion, gender etc. and available to students at the University of Roehampton.

This will be achieved by working with all stakeholders the student body, staff, alumni and management of the institution through all forms of social media platforms

As your Student Union President, my aim also is to ensure the student's voice is being heard by creating an effective communication and feedback channel

As your student union president, it is my aim to create bonding, networking within and across other universities
