My name is Mehmet Ali ACIKGOZ. I am a Master of Business Administration student and have an Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree. I am currently a Mov'in Europe Ambassador of Erasmus Student Network and a Board Member of the Mediterranean Association for Education and Employment. During my undergraduate years, I had a lot of opportunities to represent my university and country in multinational meetings and platforms in different regions of Europe. I have organised numerous events and meetings for the international student bodies. Being a full-time student and having a very important role in the students' union demands very high qualifications and experience at the same time. I believe I have all the requirements to keep the RSU meetings fairly and form them to engage students.

As council chair, I would hope to make councillors are able to hear your voices and turn the union into a vehicle that can shape itself to support you throughout your time here at UoR. As someone who's been going along to council meetings for years, I have a plethora of experience over the years and seeing councils take many shapes and forms. If you vote me as council chair I would also continue this evolution and enable the council to meet and discuss your demands and needs equitably.

Some of my professional and volunteer experience;
President of Erasmus Students' Club - 4 years
Advisor of Council of Student Union - 1 year
Business Manager of Manufacturing Company - 3 years
Research and Development Engineer - 2 Years

If elected I will;
-Engage students during the meetings.
-Make the student union meetings more approachable for all the participants.
-Encourage students to participate in students' union and take responsibilities.
-Find ways to work on solutions together.
-Manage time of meetings effectively and efficiently.
-Make sure that everyone is properly prepared when they come to the meetings.
-Keep the meetings neat and interesting for everyone.
-Always try to be fair!
