I am Tohith Edlapalli, a dedicated and passionate student who believes in the power of education to transform lives. As a student at the University of Roehampton, I have firsthand experience of the challenges and opportunities within our academic environment. I am running for RSU Vice President Education because I want to ensure that every student has a voice in shaping their learning experience.

My Vision:

I am committed to making academic life at Roehampton more inclusive, accessible, and empowering. If elected, I will work tirelessly to enhance student support, improve communication between students and the university, and advocate for policies that benefit all learners.

My Key Priorities

Academic Support & Resources:

• Expand access to academic skills workshops, including essay writing, time management, and research skills.
• Push for extended library hours, especially during exam periods, to support flexible learning.
• Advocate for more free and affordable study resources, such as e-books and online journals.

Fair & Transparent Assessment:

• Campaign for consistent feedback timelines so students receive timely and constructive responses.
• Push for clearer grading criteria to reduce confusion and ensure fairness in assessments.
• Advocate for greater flexibility in deadlines for students facing unforeseen circumstances.

Student Voice & Representation:

• Strengthen the course rep system, ensuring students’ concerns are heard and acted upon.
• Organize regular town hall meetings where students can directly raise academic issues.
• Work with university leadership to ensure student voices shape education policies.

Employability & Career Development:

• Expand internship and placement opportunities by working with industry partners.
• Promote career workshops focusing on CV writing, interview skills, and job search strategies.
• Advocate for the inclusion of more real-world projects and work-based learning in courses.

Inclusive & Flexible Learning:

• Champion better support for disabled students and those with additional learning needs.
• Advocate for more lecture recordings and hybrid learning options for students with other commitments.
• Ensure that all students, regardless of background, have equal opportunities to succeed.
