“Empower. Include. Transform: A Vision for a Stronger Roehampton”
Dear Roehampton Family,
I’m Faria, an international student studying law, and today I’m reaching out to you as a fellow student who deeply cares about our shared experiences at Roehampton University. We’re all here to learn, grow, and prosper, but it’s clear we face challenges that need our collective attention. Together, we can create a university that truly reflects our values of inclusivity and empowerment:
Why This Matters:
As I've navigated life at Roehampton, I’ve heard the stories of my fellow students—stories of women feeling unsafe, of marginalized voices being overlooked, and of the desire for a community that embraces us all.
1. Empowering Women: Making Our Voices Heard
Every woman on this campus deserves to feel respected and supported. My mission is to ensure that women’s voices are not only heard but celebrated.
Here’s How We Can Do It:
• Create a Women’s Leadership Forum: Let’s build a space where women can connect, share their journeys, and gain the skills they need to step into leadership roles. This forum will be a powerful network, inspiring each other to break through barriers.
• Run Engaging Awareness Campaigns: We’ll host workshops and discussions focused on consent, respect, and empowerment. These aren’t just talks; they will be interactive, helping us all understand the importance of supporting one another.
• Team Up with Local Organisations: By partnering with local charities and NGOs, we can bring in valuable resources and support, ensuring that help is always available for those who need it.
2. Building a Community Where Everyone Belongs
Roehampton’s diversity is our strength, and it’s time we fully embrace it. Every student deserves to feel valued, regardless of their background.
Here’s How We Can Do It:
• Establish a Diversity and Inclusion Society: This Society will be made up of students from all walks for life, ensuring that every voice is represented in university decisions. Together, we can create policies that truly reflect our community.
• Host Cultural Exchange Events: Let’s celebrate our unique cultures! By organising events that showcase our diverse backgrounds, we can encourage understanding and friendships that go beyond borders.
• Create Peer Support Networks: No one should feel isolated. By setting up peer support groups, we can connect students facing similar challenges, providing a safe space to share and grow together.
3. A Commitment to Real Action
Talk is cheap, and I’m here to make real commitments. I promise to be transparent and accountable.
Your concerns will guide my actions, and I’ll ensure that we celebrate our progress together.

With your support, we can transform our university into a place where women are empowered, and every student feels included and valued.
