Calling all society members! Voting for this year's Societies Elections is now open, you have until Thursday 3 April at 11:00 to vote for your society’s new committee!
Why vote?
As we are rapidly approaching the end of the academic year, society leaders leave their society to graduate or simply move on from the role. During our nominations period, students put themselves forward to join their relevant committees, and now that they’ve shared their ideas and proposals with society members, it’s your turn to decide who will be the best leader for your society.
Voting allows you to have a more active role in your society, as it gives you the opportunity to have your voice heard and have a say in the direction your society will take next academic year. Head to the where you’ll be able to see who’s in the running for the leadership of your society, read their manifestos, and vote for who you’d want to see run the society.
How does voting work?
Voting in the Societies Elections 2025 is restricted to current society members only. This means, if you are not currently a member of a given society, you won’t be able to vote in the elections.
All society elections voting is done online. This ensures that it can be conducted freely and fairly, reduces admin for current society leaders, and that there are no hidden barriers for members to get involved.
We use a system called single transferable vote. You can learn more about what this means and how it works below.
