Vice President Education

Irene Reynolds

Hello Roehampton students,

my name is Irene Reynolds, and I am your RSU Vice President of Education for the 2024/2025 academic year.

A little bit about me, in 2021 I moved from Chicago to London to study on the BA Primary Education (QTS) course here at Roehampton! Early into my studies, I learned about the BA Education Studies programme, which really piqued my interest! The Education Studies course enabled me to be able to learn about educational policy, inclusive education, the psychology behind learning, and so much more. As someone who desires to contribute to a positive change in the education system, I decided that this programme of study was the perfect fit for me; therefore, I put in an application to switch courses and never looked back.

During my time at Roehampton, I have gained a lot of experience working with the Student Engagement Team, being a Programme Representative and a Student Representative on the revalidation panel for several programmes.

Now as your Vice President of Education, I have lots of exciting plans in store for this academic year! I hope that I will be able to introduce welcome activites for every intake throughout the year, introduce Wellbeing Wednesdays, enhance graduate outcomes, and implement practical courses such as language classes, and employability skills workshops. This is simply a brief outline of my objectives, but I promise to advocate for all students' needs and concerns, ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education, resources, and support systems.

Looking forward to an incredible year! :)

Three Fun Facts About Me:

  1. I have been a teacher in four different countries
  2. I have three cats and a puppy who is a Labrador/Pitbull mix :)
  3. I am currently working on writing a book

What is something you are most looking forward to this year being an RSU Officer?

I'm really looking forward to meeting new students, and working with them to provide opportunities that will improve their student experience!
